When making a perfect cup of tea/coffee is considered an art, serving it in style shouldn’t be less artistic…right? Make your tea affair an extraordinary one with this novel Silver tea & coffee tower set by Zaha Hadid for Alessi. Zaha Hadid has translated her passion for architecture into this tower set. This table sculpture consists of four elements: teapot, coffee pot, milk jug and sugar bowl that fit together to define its three-dimensional silhouette. The tower structure sits within a tray that guides the user through the multiple configurations, the form changing according to whether or not the set is in use. The teapot is a wide, flat organic shape, while the coffee pot rises from this landscape like a tower.
The “representative mode,” when the set is unused, is a compact structure that is easily carried around. In the “functional mode” the objects are flipped and turned, facilitated by the template of the tray. Each shape has a cut/section that enables the piece to slide onto a different axis, exposing openings for pouring, and producing a completely different composition.
This artistic teaware is exclusively available through 20ltd in a limited edition of 99 units, and each set adorns a price tag of approx. $33,500.
